INSTRUCTIONS

1

Ensure the claw to be high heeled is healthy and can fully weight bear.

3

Before applying the glue to the HH determine the best position to glue it to the claw. As a guide position the HH as back and wide on the sole as possible.

Prep the sole. It needs to be flat, clean and dry. Ideally use a battery powered grinder with a hoof-trimming disc. See Video.

TIPS

Fitting a HH to a claw should take less than a minute but adequate sole preparation is important to ensure the HH stays on for the required amount of time. Ideally the sole surface should be even, clean and dry. For best results use a battery-powered grinder with a hoof-trimming disc. Grinding also helps to create the maximum amount of sole surface area for the HH to glue to. As a rule the more sole to glue to the better the retention.

The role of the foam pad is to help even out any unevenness of the sole as well as hold a certain volume of glue. The glue will start to set quickly so ensure that you correctly position the HH on the sole on the  first attempt. Having to reposition the HH will affect retention. Positioning the HH back and wide allows the HH to wear eveningly as well as promote claw balance when weightbearing. The toe of the claw can over run the HH and you should check to ensure the HH is not rubbing against the heel of the other claw.

The gluing procedure is straightforward but using the right amount of glue is important. Ideally the foam pad needs to be just wet through and small drops of glue can be seen on the edge of the HH  when it is applied to the sole under pressure. One 50g container will do at least 7 HHs.

HH’s typically stay on for 1-3 weeks As they are made out of firm rubber they both wear well and hold their shape during that time. The same HH can be used on either the left or right claw simply by turning it over. They are 25mm high ensuring there is always adequate elevation of the affected claw off the ground. Being rubber there is also a small amount of give when the cow is walking. This helps cows adjust quickly to the HH and walk normally within a short time.

The gallery contains more videos and photos for you to refer to and please feel free to contact me if you have any questions. I know hhs work for me. They save me time and make working with lame cows so much easier. I stand by them and  have the expertise and experience to make sure they will work for you too. Thank you for using Highheels.

STORAGE

Superglue has a 12 month expiry period from its manufacture date. Best practice is to refrigerate to extend the shelf life

WARNING

Remember that you are working with superglue. It will bond in seconds so you need to take appropriate care when using it. Avoid contact with skin and eyes. For your safety we advise that you wear gloves and face/eye protection. Heat and smoke can be produced during the gluing process. Handle with care and only work in ventilated areas. Keep out of reach of children and pets.
